Comprehensive Care for Adults and Children at a Harvard Teaching Hospital

The Department of Psychiatry offers comprehensive mental health services designed to evaluate and treat people with medical and psychological problems, developmental impairments, learning, emotional or behavioral disorders, and/or addiction concerns. Services are available for all ages and in many languages.

People who come here find a world-class team who cares deeply about their health and have a passion for serving those in greatest need. Together, we focus on diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

Services are available in hospital and outpatient settings, including integrated care within CHA Primary Care practices. This helps patients receive care in the most appropriate settings. We also have psychiatry emergency care and strong community connections that emphasize prevention and wellness.

More than 400 of our staff serve as faculty at Harvard Medical School - teaching students, mentoring trainees and conducting important research.

Department Spotlight

CHA Mental Health Home

CHA is strengthening the care of people with serious mental illness through a pilot effort that integrates medical and mental health care in an outpatient mental health setting. This "Mental Health Home" model builds on the success of a weekly group program that provides care in one familiar location to improve health outcomes.
